We are so excited to be launching our new Girlfriends in God website! Over the past several years, God has allowed Sharon, Mary and I to come along side of hundreds of thousands of women from all over the world through the GiG devotions and our speaking engagements. The LORD is on the move, longing to bring help, hope, and healing to wounded hearts and to give direction, connection, and protection to each of us who look to Him and to His strength. We, as His daughters, are simply along for the ride. It’s HIS show. We pray that this site reflects that and encourages you toward His heart. :)

So take a few moments to look around. Click a few links. If a devotion moves you, click the FACEBOOK icon to post it to your page. Share our site with the women in your life who are in the trenches with you. The friends who love you in spite of you. The ones who will tell you if there is broccoli in your teeth. You know… your GiGs! Then come back regularly and connect with us. We really do love you ladies, pray for you regularly and enjoy doing life with you!

In Girlfriend Grace and Love,

Gwen

Thank you for the November 10th article – Grandma’s Hands. How we use our hands to raise our children, grand-children, etc. Then one day, if we are lucky enough, we get to use our hands to help the one who used her hands to raise us.

My Mom is 91 years old and requires 24/7 care. My two sisters and I are her caregivers 24/7. My Mom had eight children (3 girls & 5 boys). Her and Dad brought us up in a Great Christian home where we were taught to love God and others. My Mom always took care of things when they happened – never – wait til your Father gets home.
I moved in with Mom about 6 months ago because someone had to be with her around the clock. But I now get to use the hands that God blessed me with help take care of My Mom all these years later as she had done for all of us. And one day we will be able to open our arms and let Mom go when God calls her home.

Thank you again for this web site.

Hands that wave goodbye as a son drives off to college and hands that adjust a cherished daughter’s wedding veil. A mother’s hands are loving hands, disciplining hands, grieving hands, protecting hands, and providing hands. They embrace the child and then, when the child is ready, she opens them and lets them go.

Take a look at your hands today and ask God how He would have you use them. If you are are mom, thank God for all the ways He lets you use your hands to bless your children.  If you are not a mom, thank God for all the hands that He has used to bless you.

    Let’s Pray
Dear Lord, thank You for holding me always in the palm of Your hands. I pray today that I will use my hands for good: to help a child, to give a hug, to pat a back, to cook a meal, to touch with kindness, to caress with love. I lift up my hands to praise You and fold them in prayer to intercede.
