I’m Such a Restoration Project

Hi GiGs!

Gwen here. There is a new lyric video for a song called “Restore” that I wanted to share with you. I co-wrote it with two very talented friends: Sue Smith and Carl Cartee. The song was inspired by Psalm 80, in which the psalmist continually repeats the phrase, “Restore us, O God; make your face shine upon us, that we may be saved.”

It’s a prayer I continually pray… because I’m in constant need of the grace of God. I’m a total restoration project! And He is a generous God – constantly willing to listen to hearts that are humbled before Him in repentant confession. His grace covers our mess. His love reaches beyond our depravity. His comfort touches the most wounded of hearts. Restoration has been his game plan since the fall of man. His grace-plan! His love plan. Hallelujah! Our God completely rocks, girlfriend! He’s a loving, compassionate and merciful God!

All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because, “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. (1 Peter 5:5-7)

Hope the song is a blessing to you! If so, feel free to share it with your friends!

Your Girlfriend in God,
Gwen

Thank you for those beautiful encouraging words Gwen. When I saw the title of the blog I had to read it because I have been seeking restoration from October 2011 after falling big time — again. This has led to clinical depression for which I am still taking medication and God seems so far away from me. I keep crying out to God for cleansing and restoration. My heart is also FULL of such deep pain. Oh how I pant for restoration. Sometimes I feel like I have outdone St. Paul in being the chiefest of sinners… and worst of all, after becoming a Christian at age 17, now 50. I know God is awesome and faithful, plentious in mercy, grace, lovingkindness and forgiveness and I ask that you pray with and for me as I patiently await His restoration.

      Good morning My Sister,

First of all, I just want to say Thank God for GIGs!! I’m so very thankful that God thru the holy spirit let me to this website this morning. I just want you to know that you are not alone!! I too have been struggling with restoration in my relationship with God. I too have been a christian since my teenage years, but now even the age of 56, sometimes I feel uncertain in my relationship with God. Yesterday, the holy spirit blessed me to here a sermon taught from Ps. 103, where it tells us that God forgives all of our sins!!!!!!!!!!! This is such wonderful news. He help me to stop thinking that I was so bad and that God would not forgive me for my sins. I know know that when I have these thoughts, they are from the enemy because he knows that once he can get us into stinky thinking, he has just about won the battle. So stay prayerful and know that God is in control of every situation and he has promised to be with us always…. Don’t let the enemy still your joy, because he will certainly try. Know that God loves you with an everlasting love and no once can snatch you out of his hands.

      Love you and be blessed!!
      Betty
